Willie Lee “Big Willie” Shields, age 70, departed this life on Monday, December 13, 2021, at East Jefferson Hospital, after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was a native of St. Joseph, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA.  Willie was a retired truck driver. Beloved husband of Tammy Shields by 2^nd marriage and the late Hattie Shields by 1^st marriage. Loving father of Hattie Lane, Keitra Della, Quanshanta Lane, Hope Lane, Dymphana Lane,  Vonda (Tyrone) Jefferson, Willie (Tracy) Lane, Calbert Lane, and Louis (Latara) Lane. Stepfather of Jasalyn and Kasia Smith. Son of the late Ray and Annie Bell Shields. Brother of Ray, Bennie, Delaware, Joe, and Henrietta Shields, Bertha Nelson, Betty Toledano, and the late Alfred Shields, Edmond Shields, and Isabella Tapp. Godfather of Yolanda Dixon. Willie is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
