HERBERT WILLIAMS, SR.

Herbert Williams, Sr. departed this life on Monday September 20, 2021, at the age of 88.  He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Herbert was a retired forklift driver with Celotex and later employed with National Gypsum and Boomtown Casino. Beloved father of Herbert (Brenda) Williams, Jr. Rev. Richard E. (Theresa) Williams, Linda (David) Shannon, Dimple Webb, Jennifer Williams, Pastor Valerie W. (Dewayne) Hooks, Tyana Webb, and the late Gregory Williams. Grandfather of the late Shelita Stevenson. Son of the late Robert “Fump-Pee” Williams and Lonnie Washington Love. Brother of June Love, Regina Williams, Roy, Craig, and Gerald Love, and the late Chester Williams. Brother-in-law of the late Edna Love, also survived by 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Hope Baptist Church, Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at New Hope Baptist Church 434 7^th St. Gretna, LA on Saturday October 9, 2021, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Warren E. Johnson officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
