Deborah Pierce-Kennedy a Certified Nursing Assistant at JoEllen Smith Convalescent Center for the past 15 years departed this life on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. She was a deaconess at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. Loving mother of Paul (June) Pierce, Sr., LaKeisha Pierce (Andre) Jolivett and Deitra Pierce. Wife of Carl Kennedy, Jr. Grandmother of James Adams, Paul Pierce, Jr. and Porsha Pierce. Daughter of the late Willie and Doris Jackson. Sister of Brenda Williams, Cynthia Pierce, Vanessa Pierce, Donna Jackson, Terry Jackson, Marvin Jackson, Anthony and Ronnie Pierce and the late Willie Jackson, Jr., Bobby Jackson, and Tammy Jackson-Dixon; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 53 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Avondale, La. Relatives and friends of the family also, pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, Third Emmanuel Baptist Church and all neighboring churches. Employees of JoEllen Smith Convalescent Center are invited to attend the funeral service at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 3512 U.S. Hwy 90, Avondale, La., on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:00a.m. Elder Sean Elder-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.
