WENTRELL MARIE GARCIA

Wentrell “Winnie” Garcia departed this earthly life and entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 10, 2022, at the age of 25. She was a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Wentrell developed her love for dance at the tender age of 5 years old, and she began showcasing her talent on Sylves Starlight Dance Academy, John Ehret Pep Squad, Captain at Ellender Middle School, and Co Captain at Sci Academy. Winnie as she was affectionately known by family and friends was a sales associate with SAMS. Loving mother of Lori Monette. Companion of Louis Monette. Devoted daughter of Juana Durham (Chevez) and Wendell Mitchell (Cynthia). Granddaughter of Louis (Gladys) Divinity and Beverly (Nathan) Jethro, Vernon Coleman and the late Elaine and Juan Garcia. Sister of LaWarren, Juan, Damon, Wendell, and Ja’Juan Garcia, Chevez Durham, Jr., Lakietha, Kadreka, Chantelle, and Taquanna Roberson. Niece of Kizzy, Lydia, Christina, and Shamika Divinity, Courtney Divinity-Stephens, Veralynn Wilson, Latoya Jackson, Ariel Garcia, Ray Charles (Donalekia) and Vernell Hampton, Michael, Cornelius, Christopher, and Jason Divinity, James Mitchell, Ronald Douglas and the late Gloria Garcia, Juan Hampton, Dishawn Butler and Wilbert Wilson Jr.  Goddaughter of Erica Norwood. Bestfriend of Jonda Johnson, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L. B. Landry Ave. New Orleans, LA. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.  Viewing will begin at 8:00a.m. until 10:00a.m. ONLY at the above-named church.  Interment:  Providence Memorial Park Cemetery- Metairie, LA.
