Walter Herbert Wilson, Jr entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the age of 89. He was a native of Napoleonville, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Walter was a graduate of Sarah T. Reed High School, and he served his country in the United States Army. He was a retired truck driver with Housing Authority of New Orleans. Beloved husband of Mary Alice Clayton Wilson. Devoted father of Bonnie Ann, Gregory, Alfred, Jr., Bernitha, and Marie Scott, Lynell Webb, Terry Jones, and Shanell Mosely. Son of the late Warren Jones, Sr. and Hazel Kennedy Jones. Brother of the late Warren Jones, Jr., Barbara Ann Skidmore, and Betty Jean Cotton, also survived by 18 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Mark Baptist Church of Algiers, Fischer Community Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Fischer Community Church 1737 L. B. Landry Ave. New Orleans, LA on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Lonnie Williams officiating - Bishop James Nelson Brown Host Pastor. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above-named church.
