Virginia “MaryAnn” Turner, age 79, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, July 22, 2024. She was a native of Vacherie, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. “MaryAnn”, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was a 1961 graduate of Magnolia High School, and was a retired school bus driver. Beloved wife of the late Alphonse Turner, Sr. of Marion, IN. Devoted mother of the late Raymond Coster, Jr. Stepmother of Alphonse (Farinetta) Turner, Jr., Youlanphas Turner, and Yolanda Turner. Loving grandmother of Raymond (Destiny) Coster, III, Aimee L. (Sherman, Sr.) Petty, Rayzelle Coster, Raykelle Miller, and the late Ja’Ray Coster. Cherished great- grandmother of Lanier Bouie, Jr., RaeKaya Coster, Brenden Nailor, Raymond Coster, IV, Ivorie Effron, Ky’Rie Effron, Shine Petty, and Jabari Effron. Daughter of the late Johnny, Sr. and Aserene Smith. Sister of Annie Mae, Ruby, Edarine, Vernell, Cassandra and Johnny, Jr., and the late Carol Jean Smiith and Edward Thomas. Virginia is also survived by a host of step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second High Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service at Second Highway Baptist Church, 1533 Haydel Drive, Marrero, LA on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Joseph J.
