VINCENT JOSEPH SMITH

Vincent Joseph Smith, age 56, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, August 19, 2024, at his residence. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Vincent was a 1986 graduate of West Jefferson High School, and he was employed in the construction industry. Vincent was an avid Miami Dolphins fan, who also loved cars, especially El Caminos. Beloved husband of Dantzler Cato Smith. Devoted father of Dominic Calhoun, Devante Carto, Levante Carto, Keosha Cato, Jaranisha Cato, and Amireyah Smith. Loving grandfather of Jerinique, Jermel, Jer’Keim, Law’Asia, Heaven, and Chrishone. Son of the late Gloria Sheppard Smith. Grandson of the late Katie Mixon. Brother of Linda Paddio, Catherine (Barry) Manly, Walter Roberts, Jr., Karen Viator, Robin Roberts-Metoyer, Dana Roberts, Easter Gabriel, Enola Haynes, Chiquana Dales, Demetria Roberts, Tina Charles, Linda Williams, Mohammad Roberts, Leslie Roberts-Young, Aniba Williams, Jorey Roberts, and Adonis Roberts; also survived by 7 nieces, 2 nephews, 7 great nieces, 6 great nephews, and a host of other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 3512 Hwy 90 West, Avondale, LA on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Darold A. Ingram, officiating.
