Velma Jean Sharp, age 74, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 1, 2021. She was a native of Lismore, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Velma Jean was a retired employee of  Katz and Besthoff  (K&B), now known as Rite Aid. Jean, as she affectionally known by family and friends was an avid reader, and enjoyed cooking, especially mustard greens. Velma and her friend Audrey often enjoyed riding the streetcar throughout the city of New Orleans. Beloved mother of Letitia (Brian) Dumas. Grandmother of Bresha, Lexcia, Brian II, and Lincoln Dumas. Daughter of the late Joe and Elizah Henderson Sharp. Sister of Joe H. Sharp (Jacqueline), Janie Mills, Evelyn Daniels, Verma Skipper, Joann, Sallie, and Martha Sharp and the late Archie Rhone and Inez Sharp. Aunt of the late Brandon Skipper and Donavon Sharp, also, survived by a host nieces, nephews, cousins and extended relatives and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA. on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. Interment:  Restlawn Park Cemetery Avondale, LA.
