Tremele Andre’ Smothers, Sr., affectionately known as “Melle Boo”, transitioned on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the age of 52. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Hammond, LA. Tremele attended L.W. Higgins High School and he worked various forms of employment prior to becoming disabled. Loving husband of Julie Vallee Smothers. Father of Trenell Denise Banks, Cordell Andre’ Vallee of Portland, OR, and Tremele Andre’ Singleton, Jr. Grandfather of Justice Hayes, J’anae Banks, and Camiryn Vallee. Beloved son of the late Robert Lee Smothers and Alice Marie Smothers. Grandson of the late Dewitt Brown, Sr., Mable Julie Bulter, Sarah C. Smothers, and Vennie Smothers, Sr. Brother of Carol Smothers Darby, Cherise Hill, and Alten Franklin of St. Francisville, LA. Nephew of Joyce Harrell, Loretta Robinson, Dorothy Brown, Virginia Brown, Annie White, Christine Joyner, Marion Jones, Charles Brown, and George Smothers. Uncle of Raven Duhon and Ty Hill. Tremele is also survived by his beloved pet Sassy Smothers, and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors’ officers and members of St. Paul #1 Baptist Church, Growing in Grace Ministries of McComb, MS, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time.
