THADDEUS THOMAS VALENTINE, SR.

Thaddeus “Shoppe” Valentine, Sr., age 72, walked into the gates of heaven on Monday, January 25, 2021. He was a native of Thibodaux, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Thaddeus was a retired employee of Plumbers and Steam Fitters Local 60 and Rail Crew. In the early eighties he served as the first African American Fire Chief of W. K. B. Fire Department, now Herbert Wallace Fire Department. He was a board member of Inclusive Care and 5^th Ward Coalition. Beloved husband of Shirley Valentine. Loving father of Adrian Valentine (Irvin), and the late Thaddeus Valentine, Jr. and Ta’Mara Valentine Davis. Devoted grandfather of Thyreal Valentine, Diamond Davis, Zora Brengettsy, Shayne Valentine, and the late Ronja’Li Valentine.  Great grandfather of Armaan and Kameron Rawles, and Xanden Valentine. Son of the late Oscar (Gladys) Valentine, Sr. and Irma (Oscar, Sr.) Moore. Brother of Gustavia (Malcolm) Smith, Gladys Valentine, Oscar (Natalie) Valentine, Jr., Oscar (Brenda) Moore, Jr., Thurman (Tanglia) Moore, and the late Randolph Hebert. Nephew of Ed Valentine. Brother-in-law of Geraldine Collins, JoAnn Tillman, Brenda Ann Tillman, Earl (Gail) Tillman, Jr., Larry (Linda) Tillman, and Lyonell Tillman. Thaddeus is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.The family would like to acknowledge pastors, officers, and members of Mount Calvary International Church, and employees of Inclusive Care.
