Sonya Gesele Polanco -Rose entered into eternal rest on Tuesday March 22, 2022, at the age of 60. She was a native of Harvey, LA and a resident of Jacksonville, FL. Sonya served her country in the United States Army. Beloved wife of Orville Rose. Devoted mother of Natasha Johnson (John) Maple. Grandmother of Natori, Kayla, and Serenity. Great grandmother of Nysia, Azael, and Amirah. Daughter of Elizabeth Augusta “Gusta” Scott. Sister of Steven (Gwendolyn) Scott, Sr., Cheryl Whitley, Jeryl Wilson, and Joy (Lincoln) Cottle. Daughter in law of Sylberth Rose and the late Esse Rose. Sister-in-law of Dr. Clement and Laura Rose, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Calvary International, Evening Star Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 10:00a.m.  Pastor Norman Smith officiating.
