SIMON PETER BENNETT

Simon Peter Bennett entered into eternal rest at Wynhoven Healthcare Facility on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the age 82.   He was a native of Gonzales, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Simon was a retired Truck Driver. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Canselo Bennett.  Father  of Lydia C. (Johnel) Lewis, Cherylynn “Denise” Errand, Rolland, Shelita, Tara, Cherelle, Donnel  and the late Peter, Jr., Loretta, Shelia, Kerry, Kendrick, Marilyn (the late Milton), and Lana Bennett. Son of the late Rev. Isaac and Margarete Watson Bennett. Grandson of the late Pete and Clara Watson, Ali and America Bennett. Brother of Ethel B. Jackson, Irma B. Kincey, Isaac and John Bennett  and the late Bessie, Odessa, Alec, Stella, and Magalene Bennett-Lawson. Brother in law of Mary and Geraldine (Isaac) Bennett, also survived by 48+ grandchildren, 40+ great grandchildren, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Saturday, February  1, 2020 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. at the above named parlor.  Interment: St. Landry Cemetery-Gonzales, LA
