SHIRLEY JEAN SMITH LEWIS

Shirley Jean Smith Lewis entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at the age of 80. She was a native of Starksville, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Wife of the late Early James Lewis by second marriage and James Hooker by first marriage. Devoted mother of Chad Jason Hooker. Daughter of the late John Smith and Annie Harris Smith. Sister of Annie Louise Smith, Annette Smith, and the late Karl Smith, and John Smith, Jr. Godmother of Michael Grant. Devoted caregiver Wylene Smith, also survived by 2 nieces, 2 nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.  Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Progressive Church  and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Progressive Church 437 Cohen St. Marrero, LA on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Sterling Mealancon  officiating.
