SHILENT DONALD THOMPSON

Shilent Thompson entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the age of 59. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Shilent was a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School and employed as a Manager with Walmart. As the matriarch of her family, Shilent led with strength, compassion, and wisdom, and instilled the importance of humility, hard work, and self-pride. Devoted mother of Sherrill (Leonal) Robinson, L. T. (Darria) Donald, Travis Donald (Raina), Angel (Christopher) Bell, Josie and Lynquell Hall, Shantrice Parker, Charles Dixon, Jr., and the late Terryina and Donavin Donald. Loving grandmother of Car’Lay (Qiandrane), La’Niyah, Skyy, Ionesty, Asia, La’Resa, Jamel, Christopher, Robert, Leonal III, Daylon, Lenox, and the late Shantrell Parker, and Miraquel Donald. Daughter of the late Josie Lee “Blue Eye’ Donald. Granddaughter of the late Sally Perry and Madea Hayes. Beloved sister of Daniel Donald, Walter Donald, Shelita Hall (John), Kalton (Glenda) Hall, Lessie Hall, and the late Mary Hall. Godmother of Carey Shief and Ulysses Lampkin. Sister-in-law of the late Alvina and Christina Donald. Shilent is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Regular Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Regular Baptist Church, 901 5th Street Gretna, LA on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor T. A. Hodge, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
