SHANTRECE ALACIA DEGREE PARKER

Shantrece Alacia Degree Parker transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the age of 52. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Shantrece graduated from West Jefferson High School and received her Certified Nursing Assistant License from New Orleans Job Corp. “Shank”, as she was affectionately known by family and friends, pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at the University of New Orleans. After working as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years, she changed careers to work in the criminal justice field at the New Orleans Criminal Court System, as a Docket Clerk, and most recently as a Bonds Forfeiture Clerk. Beloved mother of John Young (Natesha), Fabreyan Degree (Christopher), Narayan Burnside (Eric), Jasmine Degree (Dwayne), and Anthony Degree (Angel). Stepmother of Alajah Coleman, Jaron Parker, and Herraine Parker. Grandmother of Sariah, Amayah, Serenity, Saleah, Cire, Jamia, Kasiya, Sykyri, Mike, Dwayne, Christopher and Faizon. Daughter of Charlene Degree and Eldric Warmington. Stepdaughter of Jack Watson, and Schwanda Cambrice. Fiancé of Ramon Coleman. Granddaughter of Orvil Williams, Mary Williams, Joseph Bright, Leonard Williams, and the late Gloria M. Degree, Raymond Warmington, Sonia Muse, Ronald Muse Jr., Terrell Paynes Jr., Kyree Nesbitt, and Renaldo Degree. Sister of Antonio Degree, Eldric Cambrice, Ronalynn Degree, Kenuce “Kikki” Campbell Eving, Ariel Cambrice and the late Shontrell “Shon” Thompson. Stepsister of Tracey Stevenson. Goddaughter of Michael Lewis and the late Diane Lewis Brown, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends also pastors, officers and members of Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church, Israel Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Israel Baptist Church, 1612 Esther St. Harvey, LA on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Darryl McKinnies Host Pastor - Pastor Keith Paul Stewman officiating.
