Sgt. Reynard J. Cennett departed this life unexpectedly on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the age of 35. He was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Reynard was a 2008 graduate of John Ehret High School and continued his studies at Southern University at New Orleans earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice; he also received an Associate and Bachelor of Science in Addictive Behaviors from Southern University. He later obtained a Master of Science in Homeland Security at Northwestern State University. While at Southern he was active with the Student Government Association and held positions as President and Executive Secretary. Sgt. Cennett was a member of the Louisiana Army National Guard, from which he received numerous commendations, including National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon. He was formerly employed as a file clerk with Attorney Jason Williams and Associates and as a legal secretary with Keith Sanchez LLC. Beloved son of Reyna Cennett and Alicia Jordan. Loving brother Jordan J. Cennett, Reyna Hunter, Carissa Cook, and the late Larisa K. Hunter-Hampton. Grandson of Herric Jordan and the late Dorothy Mae Jordan and Lea Prim Antoine Pierre. Nephew of Donna Jordan, Karen Jordan, Beatrice Peters, Delores (Juniors) Robinson, Juanita (Leroy) Epps, Alberna Jones, Cynthia Lewis, Lawrence (Cecilia) Cennett, Sr. Lucien Lewis, Sr., Darron Allen and Elu C. Jordan. Godson of Cynthis Davis. Godbrother of Paetra Davis and Heather Walker. Reynard is also survived by his goddaughter Skylar, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; John Ehret Class of 2008; alumni of Southern of Southern University at New Orleans and Northwestern State University are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1419 4th Street, Westwego, LA on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Woodrow Hayden, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
