Scofield Davis

Scofield “Jesse” Davis, age 81, transitioned to his prepared eternal rest on Monday, May 4, 2020. He was a native of Biloxi, MS and a resident of Gretna, LA. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was employed for over 40 years as a welder with Gweco and Industrial Welding.  Husband of Naomi Walker Davis. Loving father of Barbara Davis of Gretna, LA, Treasy Jackson of TX, Latoya Johnson, Vonnie Johnson of LA and Paula Davis of Chicago, IL. Stepfather of Michelle Gurley of Chicago, IL. Son of the late Scofield Davis, Sr. and Josephine Edgerson.  Brother of Bernadette Forest of Buckatunna, MS and Josephine Sparkman of Chicago, IL; he was preceded in death by 9 siblings.  Jesse, as he is affectionately known to family and friends is also survived by his goddaughter Robin Murray Fox, 30 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
