SANDRA ROBINSON STEVENS

Sandra Robinson Stevens, age 64, transitioned peacefully at Slidell Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Newton, MS and a longtime resident of Westwego, LA. Sandra was educated in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. She was formerly employed as a custodian at Worley Middle School in Westwego, LA. Sandra will be remembered as a weather monitor, who had a fiery and infectious personality.  Beloved wife of the late Wallace Stevens. Devoted mother of Ireon Robinson (Tam) Chau, Dwarnitia (Ryan) Henry, and Kanelisha (Javen) Daniel. Loving grandmother of Javen L. Godfrey, Alexis J, Godfrey, Tai A. Robinson, Briah J. Robinson, Joseph J. Robinson, Denvor J. Robinson, Silas A. Wilson, Beres W. Henry, and Isaiah B. Chau. Great grandmother of Jrue and Amir Godfrey. Daughter of the late Charlie Robinson and Willie Ruth Brown Robinson. Stepdaughter of Mary Robinson. Sister of Sonja Brown, Nadia Robinson, Earl (Maxine) Brown, David (Patricia) Brown, Vernon (Nicole) St. Amant, and the late Charlie Robinson, Jimmy Robinson, and Shelia Robinson Doby. Niece of Linda, Eunice, and George (Jackie) Robinson, Jr. Also cherishing her memories are her longtime companion John Matthews, her grand dog King Pot, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Historic True Vine Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches; employees of R&R Transportation and Southern Mail are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Rev. James Steve Wing, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
