RITA STANLEY PALMER

Rita Stanley Palmer entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the age of 68. She was a native of Westwego, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Rita was a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School and employed as a Child Care Worker. Beloved wife of Cornelius Palmer. Loving mother of Dawn Jackson. Daughter of the late Ed Jackson and Lucinda Pike. Granddaughter of the late George, Sr. and Augustava Logan Slang. Devoted sister of Otis Jackson, Wilbert Pike, Michael Pike, Clyde Pike, Kevin (Olivia) Pike, Sheryl (Sam) Wiley, and the late Kenneth Pike, Eddie Jackson, Craig Pike, and Peggy Jackson. Sister-in-law of the late Eunice Jackson, Brenda Jackson, and Diane Pike. Rita is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1419 4^th Street Westwego, LA on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Woodrow Hayden, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
