There is a new name written in Heaven!“God has built a house of many mansions where His children will abide, free from pain and sorrow, forever at His side.” God has lifted Rickie Johnson, Jr. to a place of peace and rest. Someday we’ll be together in our Father’s home above, where we’ll thank Him for His mercy and praise Him from above.Early Tuesday morning on August 21, 2024, God called, “Rickie Johnson, Jr.” and added Rickie’s name to the heavenly scroll. Rickie was called home to the “Mansion of Heaven,” to be with The Master. When Rickie Jr. heard the call, he answered, “Here I am.” Rickie accepted Christ as his personal Savior under Rev. Dr. Norman N. Francis at an early age.He was born on September 11, 1981, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was the youngest of three children born to the late Rickie Johnson, Sr. and Johnnie Jones Johnson. He is the father of three beautiful daughters Brittney, Zuri “Belle,” and Jael. In 1999 he graduated from O. Perry Walker High School and attended Grambling State University and Delgado Community College. Rickie was affectionately called “Slickie” by all who knew and loved him. He was an avid football fan, and also enjoyed cooking. He was well-known in the community for providing superb auto detailing. Rickie was a loving and respectable person with a charming and charismatic personality. He never met a stranger. He loved people and had a generous heart. He would give you “the shirt off of his back.” He always greeted his mother and family with a kiss on their forehead, and never failed to say, “I love you.” Rickie Jr. is preceded in death by his father, Rickie Johnson, Sr. His memory will be treasured by his mother, Johnnie J. Johnson; sister, Ann Michelle Johnson-Griffin; brother, Max Cory Johnson, Sr.; daughters Brittney, Zuri “Belle,” and Jael; grandmother, Louise J. Mimms, Aunt Brenda J. Mitchell (Grady),Aunt Barbara J. Wilson, relatives and friends. Rickie Johnson, Jr. will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His life will forever remain in the hearts of those who love him. Let us take comfort and celebrate his absence from the body and his presence with the Lord.
