Richard Varist departed this life on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the age of 49.  He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Richard was employed as a construction worker. Beloved father of Alex and Alexis Peeler, Shernika Stalbert, Raven Mataya and Morgan Varist. Son of the late Hosey Robinson and Norma Varist. Grandson of the late Fery Varist, Sr., and Racheal Varist. Brother of Damon, Michael, and Racheal  Varist.  Nephew of the late Cheryl Varist and Fery Varist, Jr., also survived by 11 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 Monroe St., Gretna, LA on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the parlor.  Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
