RICHARD WILLIAM MARTIN

Richard William Martin entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the age of 92. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Richard was a graduate of L.B. Landry High School and Nebraska College of Business. He served his country in the United State Airforce for 26 years receiving various commendations, AFCM, AFOUA, AFCCM W/2 OLC, VSM W/1 BSS, just to name a few. Richard was employed with the Federal Civil Service for 12 years. Beloved husband of Leah Dalcour Martin. Devoted father of Janice (Frank) Spears, Gerald Prejean, Sr., Sharon (Lawrence) Daniels, Geraldine Dardar, Cherylnn Cummingham, Georgia (Gerald) Harding, and Elnora Martin. Son of the late Clarence Martin, Sr. and Elnora Hadley Martin. Brother of Edna Green, Hazel McKinney, Robert P. Martin, Sr., and the late Beulah Singleton Davis, Wilson E. Martin, Arkansas Bush, Joseph Martin Sr., John Martin Sr., Albert B. Martin Sr. Josephine Martin Jenkins, Hallie Martin Sr., Edward Martin, Leonard Martin, and Fred O. Martin Sr., also survived by 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, offices, and members of Heavenly Star Missionary Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. at the above named parlor.
