Rhonda Faye Ellison Dumas departed from this earthly life to her eternal home on Monday, March 29, 2021 at the age of 68. She was a native of New Orleans, LA, a former resident of Marrero, LA, and presently residing in St. James, LA since Hurricane Katrina. Rhonda was graduate of L. W. Higgins High School and attended Nicholls State University and Charity School of Nursing. Beloved wife of the late John F. Dumas, Sr. Devoted mother of Trichell Dumas, Veantha Dumas (Louis) Weber, and John F. Dumas, Jr. Stepmother of the late Lamont Belle. Grandmother of Kaya Foster and John Bason. Daughter of the late Freddie, Sr. and Valeria Ellison. Sister of Nora (Samuel) Jones, Linda McDonald, Patricia (Ronald) Warmington, Valeria Givens, Geneen (Harvey) Jefferson, Rita Tross, Shirley Cantrell, Charles Ellison, Melvin (Linda) Ellison, Johnny (Terri) Ellison, Coleman Ellison, and the late Lucille Ellison, Elizabeth Matthews, Carla Clayton, Pastor Dwight Ellison, and Freddie Ellison, Jr. Niece/Goddaughter of Gloria London. Sister in law of Annette Talford, Regina Walker, Bernadette Dumas-Butler, Thera Ellison, Gregory (Hellen) Dumas, Martin (Lenora) Dumas, Thomas Dumas, Archie Clayton, and the late Melvin Walker. Acknowledged sister Jacqueline Leonard, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives. Public Viewing will be held from 9:00a.m. until 10:30a.m. followed by a private family service at the church. Interment: St. Luke Church Cemetery-Moonshine, LA.
