REV. BOBBY WILLIAMS, SR.

Rev. Bobby “Doc” Williams, Sr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the age of 69. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Rev. Williams was a graduate of Warren Easton High School and received a Bachelor of Divinity from the Union Baptist Theological Seminary. He was employed for many years as a District Manager for several insurance agencies. Rev. Williams was a devoted man of faith and a man of God, who had a heart for helping people and leading people to Christ. In the 1980s he founded and pastored Cedar Grove Baptist Church, a position he proudly and faithfully served for over 20 years. When his son, Pastor Bobby Williams, Jr., opened Next Level Church in 2007, Rev. Williams became a member, where he resided until his death.  Beloved husband of Cynthia Williams. Devoted father of Pastor Bobby (LaKeisha) Williams, Jr. and Candace Williams; he and his wife were also instrumental in the rearing of many nieces and nephews. Loving grandfather of Kalia Lynn Williams and Bobby William III. Son of the late Gustave Williams and Olivia Francois. Brother of Purnell Francois, Lionel (Cynthia) Edwards, Rev. Herman (Judy) Francois, Wade (Netta) Edwards, James Francois, Cornell Edwards, Carolyn Williams, Marilyn Gillam, Cora Taylor, Jacqueline Edwards, and the late Earnest Francois and Doris Edwards. Doc, as he was affectionately known to family and friends is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
