Ramona Faye Richard Lewis entered into eternal rest at her residence on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the age of 68. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Ramona was educated in the Jefferson Parish Public School System and graduated from L. W. Higgins High School in 1974. She also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Southern University at New Orleans, LA in 1985. Ramona had a diverse career having been formerly employed in the financial industry, as well as in the following capacities: real estate agent, insurance agent, library associate, and school paraprofessional. She was a genuinely selfless, giving person who spent considerable time and talents in helping others, especially the youth in her church and community. Beloved mother of Devin A. Lewis. Devoted grandmother of Dakota A. Lewis. Daughter of the late Herman C., Sr. and Betty Taylor Richard. Granddaughter of the late Alfred “Joe” and Celeste W. Richard, and the late Levi and Lou Ann C. Taylor. Sister of Janice R. Johnson (Rodney, Sr.) Whitney, and Herman C. (Angela) Richard, Jr. Aunt of Jarrett T. N. Richard. Goddaughter of Selena L. Custer. Godmother of Rodney Rogers and Danielle O’Connor. Former wife of the late Darryl Lewis, also survived by a host of relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, and neighboring churches; employees of Customs and Border Protection-Office of Field Operations-Houston Seaport are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, 6223 Sixth Ave. Marrero, LA on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Edward Joseph, III, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA.
