Pierre Joshua Smith, Jr.

Pierre Joshua Smith, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the age of 17. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. He received his early education in the New Orleans Public School System, attending Alice Harte and Martin Behrman Elementary Schools, and International High School of New Orleans. As a young aspiring artist and writer, he attended New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA). As an active student, Pierre took part in the following clubs: Silverback Society, chess, arts and animation. He was also a member of the Taylor Awards Program for maintaining above a 3.0 average, also learning to speak, read and write Chinese. Pierre was very active with New Orleans Recreation Department (NORD), where he learned to play piano, swimming, soccer, and baseball.  Beloved son of Calina Lee- (Teddy) Young and Pierre Smith Sr. Brother of Amari Smith. Grandson Cherrigale Lee, George E. (Linda) Lee, Jeanette Smith, and the late Bill Hinson. Nephew of Tammara (Antoine) Kelly and Darwin Lee. Cousin of Joshua and Bethany Kelly, and Tristan Lee, also survived by  special family, friends, cousins, teachers, mentors and neighbors. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of New  Home Ministries and  all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Services at New Home Ministries  1616 Robert C. Blakes, Sr. Dr. New Orleans,  LA on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 10:00a.m. Bishop Samuel R. Blakes officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
