PASTOR PARNELL MICHAEL DORIS, SR.

Pastor Parnell Michael Doris, Sr. transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at West Jefferson Medical Center at the age of 63. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident for Marrero, LA. Pastor Doris was the shepherd of God Sent Ministries in Marrero, LA. He was a pillar of his community, offering strength and spiritual support to those around him. He was a constant source of advice, humor, and sound judgement. Pastor Doris serviced on various church leader boards, church associations, and community outreach programs. He was licensed cosmetologist, who held the title of Master Barber, for over 40 years.  Beloved husband of over 40 years to Prophetess Leisa V. Doris, who was also his co-pastor. Their endless love story spanned over 4 decades and will continue until eternity. Devoted father of Parnell M. Doris, Jr. and Arial J. Doris (Michael) Ledet. Loving grandfather of Parnell M. Doris, III, Jeremiah A. Doris, Mike’hia F. Doris, Fayveyan Thomas, and Zechariah A. Doris Ledet. Son of the late Rev. Andrew J. Doris and Carolyn Jackson Cain. Grandson of the late Westley and Amelia Jackson.  Brother of Kevin Doris, Sr., Deron Tross, Sr., Charell Doris Ellis, Darryl Doris, and the late Gerard “Jerry” Doris. Pastor Doris is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of God Sent Ministries, Second Highway Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Highway Baptist Church, 1533 Haydel Dr. Marrero, LA on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Joseph Johnson, officiating.  Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the church.
