Oliver Paul Powell was called into the arms of his everlasting father on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the age of 62. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Chalmette, LA. Oliver was a graduate of L B Landry High School. OPP, O, Uncle O and Paw Paw as he was affectionately known by family and friends was employed as a sales Associate with Home Depot, and he also, cooked, boiled, grilled and he was also the Home Depot Santa for the Christmas Holidays. Loving husband of 29 years to Roan Smith Powell. Devoted father of Cainan Smith, Sarai (Byron, Sr.), Elias, Amber Jackson, and Mekhi Williams. Beloved grandfather of Laila and Byron Anderson, Jr., Autumn Nunnery, and Madison Williams. Son of Cleveland Powell, Jr., and the late Leona Fernandez Powell. Grandson of the late Martha Guillory. Brother of Cleveland Powell, III, Barbara Jean Powell, Donald (Bobby) Powell, and the late Felix Powell, and Ronald (Tracy) Powell. Godfather of Victoria Green, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA, LA on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
