Noah Swift Wells, Sr., age 77, entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Sunday, February 11, 2024. He was a native of Winnsboro, LA and a resident of Killona, LA. He was a graduate of Franklin Parish High School. Norah served his country as a member of the United States Army and retired after 33 years of dedicated service. He received numerous commendations during his military career, which included Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Training Ribbon, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. While in the army Noah earned an associate degree in welding, mechanics, and aircraft repair. He was also a retired welding supervisor of Avondale Shipyard. Norah was the head deacon at Moses Baptist Church and a F. A. Mason. Beloved husband of Patricia Wells. Devoted father of Noah Wells, Jr., Willie Wells, Sr., Kevin Wells, Kentrell Wells, Kiara Jones, and the late Ronnie Wells, and Sheree Wells. Son of the late Delton Wells and Virgie Johnson. Stepson of William Johnson, Sr. Loving brother of William Johnson, Bennie Johnson, Pelton Wells, Lavonnel Taylor, Dewanna Ferguson, Lorretta Whitting, Valerie Johnson, Vanessa Robinson, Lucy Scott, Angela Haynes, and the late Jimmy Johnson. Also cherishing his memories are 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives, and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of the family Moses Baptist Church, New Jerusalem Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 414 Westwego Avenue, Westwego, LA on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Lilton McQuarter, Sr. host pastor; Pastor Carline Davis, Jr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 2413 Hwy 245, Rayville, LA on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 1:00p.m. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service, 230 Monroe St., Gretna, LA.
