Nick Lawson

April 3, 1951 — March 2, 2020

Nick Lawson, Sr. departed this life on Monday, March 2, 2020 at his residence at the age of 67. He was a native of Carpenter, MS and a resident of Harvey, LA.  Nick was a former employee of Avondale Shipyard.  Loving father of Nick Lawson, Jr., Regina Lawson, Tori Lawson, Crystal Singleton, Jamaal Lawson, Ivory Banks, LaNick Knight, and Jermonde Banks.  Beloved son of Earnestine Lawson and the late Mitchell Smith.  Grandson of the late Clarence Lawson, Cordelia Fultz Lawson.  Brother of  David Lawson, Dorothy Lawson, Irma Pate, Barbara Davis, Linda Lawson, and the late Kie and Ivory Lawson.  Nick is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1701 Estalote Avenue Harvey, LA on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Ricky Johnson, officiating  Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time at the above named church.  Interment: Evening Star Cemetery-Harvey, LA  Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe Street Gretna, LA  To view and sign the guestbook, please go to www.davismortuaryservice.com.
