Myra Jean Allen, age 62, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, September 1, 2024. She was a native of St. James Parish, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Myra attended St. James High School and was a graduate of Assumption High School. She continued her studies at Phillips Junior College, earning an Associate Degree in Business. Myra was known for her infectious laugh, unwavering love, and generous spirit. As a protective and dedicated mother, she worked and volunteered at her children’s schools throughout their educational years. Myra was a faithful member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Marrero, LA, where she served with the Usher Ministry. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and willingness to always lend a helping hand. Loving wife of Stephen W. Allen, Jr. Devoted mother of Bryeana (Chad) Allen and Stephen Allen, III. Doting grandmother of Chad Allen, II. Beloved daughter of Katherine Geason and Melvin Lorio, Jr. Sister of Phebe (the late Tramaine) Harrison, Kimberly (Fred) Darden, Bryan (Tarsha) Geason, Albert Geason, Jr., and Corey (Roslyn) Geason. Adored niece of Donald Simpson. Daughter-in-law of Stephen Allen, Sr. and the late Coralie Allen. Sister -in-law of Cheryl (Wayne) Augillard, Kevin (Renetta) Allen, Keith Allen, Shawn (Connie) Allen, Vincent (Nitrea) Allen, and Desmond (Bryniko) Allen. Also cherishing her memories are her adoptive daughter Penny August, adoptive granddaughter Brittany August, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 Walkertown Way, Marrero, LA on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Thomas J. Brown, Jr, officiating. Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m. until 9:50a.m. ONLY at the church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
