MILLIE KNIGHTSHEAD MITCHELL

Millie Knightshead Mitchell entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the age of 92. She was a native of Houma, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. She was a faithful member of the Tree of Life Christian Center Church under the leadership of Rev. Shawn Lovely. Beloved wife of the late James W. Mitchell. Devoted mother of the late Herbert James Mitchell. Loving grandmother of Herbert “Jay” (Shelita) Henderson, Bernard (Darnell) Henderson of Algiers, LA, and Damiaun (LaQuita) Mitchell of Jackson, MS. Preceded in death by 15 siblings, also survived by 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives, and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Tree of Life Ministry, The Intercessory Prayer Group, neighboring churches; caregivers, Hospitals, Doctors, and Staff are all invited to attend the funeral services at Davis Mortuary, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Eric Williams, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until the services at the above named parlor. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
