MELVIN WASHINGTON

Melvin Washington, age 66, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, August 26, 2024, at his residence. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Beloved husband of Lois B. Washington. Father of the late Melvin Batiste. Stepfather of Michelle (Schedrich) Clinton. Loving grandfather of Breonna, Antione, and DaJanique Batiste. Son of Juanita Washington and the late Merlin Washington. Grandson of the late Jerry and Gussie Wallace, Hattie and Alvin Wing. Brother of Diane Ward, Trinesha Ingran. Merlin (MaryAnn), and Gerald (Cynthia) Washington, Merlin (Keiosha) and Roosevelt Ingran, and the late Beulah W. White. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law the late Mary Batiste, his father-in-law, 3 aunts, 8 uncles, and 2 nephews. Also cherishing his memories are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Third Emmanuel Baptist Church, Second Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
