MAXINE JAMES BIRDEN

Maxine Birden departed this life at West Jefferson Medical Center on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at the age of 73. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Maxine was a retired sales associate with Dillard’s.  Beloved wife of the late Willie Birden, Sr.  Devoted mother of Willie Birden, Jr., Bryant (Tracy) Birden, Carmen Birden, Kedra Birden (Derrick, Sr.) Petite, and Kendra (Bruce, Sr.) Shelvin. Stepmother of Angela Harris, and Michele Firven.  Grandmother of Bianca Bridgewater, Marcel Birden, Andrell Gibson, Bryana Birden, Tremele Smothers, Jr., Kelyn Evans, Kerah Birden, Bruce Shelvin, Jr., and Kedrick Petite.  Sister of Hannon (Lisa) James, Jr., Betty Dumas, Patricia (Elliot) Holmes, Jacqueline Mason, Barbara (Fredrick, Sr.) Addison, Karen (Howard) Curtis, Sharon Halsell, Myron (Monique) James, and Monica James (Alan), also survived by 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and co-workers. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Mount Calvary International Worship Center, Mt. Herman Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Mount Calvary International Worship Center 1600 Westwood Dr. Marrero, LA on Tuesday, September 21, at 10:00a.m. Apostle Terry Gullage Host Pastor-Pastor Darold Ingram, Jr. officiating.
