MARY ANN WATKINS

Mary Ann Watkins, age 72, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Mary was a 1967 graduate of L. B. Landry High School and continued her studies at Phillips Junior College. She was a retired Mental Health Assistant at Hope Haven for Catholic Charities. Loving mother of Ariska (Ben) Scott and Jerressa Smith. She was also instrumental in the rearing of her goddaughter Sabrina Thomas, whom she loved as her own daughter. Beloved daughter of the late Louis Davis, Sr. and Sophia Byus Davis. Sister of Andrew (Linda) Davis, Rodney Davis, Darren (Michelle) Dixon, Michael, Brian, and Cory (Christie) Dixon, Brenda Higgins, Carolyn Davis, Linda Davis Bell, Shelia Dixon, and the late Louis Davis, Jr. and Betty Davis Oliver. Mary is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members, of Second Baptist Church, Christian Faith Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Sylvan Transportation, LLC, Touro Hospital, Marrero Healthcare Center, West Jefferson Medical Center, and Canon Hospice are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE ST. GRETNA, LA on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time. Interment: Will be Private.
