Mary Lois Manning-Woods, age 76, entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Saturday, October 19, 2024. She was a native of Ruston, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Mary was a 1966 graduate of Lincoln High School. She was a retired caregiver of Crossroads Louisiana, Inc., and a former teacher assistant at Belle Chasse State School. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she was one of the longest active member of the choir and served as choir chaplain. Mary was also a member of Westside Missionary Baptist Association. Beloved wife of the late Solomon Percy Woods. Devoted mother of Melinda Bazely Carter and Napoleon “Mo” Davis Woods. Loving grandmother of Nicole (Bobby) Davis, Ashley Dewey, Amaris (Anthony) Samson, Chinica Riden, Natalie (Jerry) Rankins, Isaiah Bazley, Angel Bazley, and Calvin Carter, Jr. Daughter of the late Nehemiah Manning, Sr. and Eloies Taylor Manning-Winston. Stepdaughter of Louis Winston. Sister of the late Nehemiah Manning, Jr., Mary Louise Carmouche, and Floyd Manning. Also cherishing her memories are 14 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1509 Monroe Street, Gretna, LA on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Orin Grant, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W.
