Marjorie Helen Stamps Wilson, age 84, departed earth for her heavenly home on Monday, January 18, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Marjorie was a graduate of Joseph S. Clark High School. She was a employed with the Department of Navy and retired in 1996 as a supervisor from the Enlisted Personnel Management Center. Margie, as she was affectionately known, was also an accomplished organist and honored God with her expertise by playing at several local churches. She possessed an astute attention to detail and meticulous creative sewing skillset that attributed to opening her own business. She was owner and Operator of Marjorie’s Draperies, designing custom drapes, wedding, and formal gowns. Beloved wife of 66 years to the late Joseph E. Wilson, Sr. Loving mother of Ronald E. (Katie) Wilson, and the late Rhonda Irene Wilson Selby and Joseph E. (Monica) Wilson, Jr. of Waukegan, IL. Grandmother of Donna (Darian) Hill, Angela Wilson, Joseph E. (Allyson Wilson III, Alisha (Edward) Wilson Butler, Katie Wilson, Dimitrius (Lindsey) Selby, Brandon Selby, Sean Wilson, and Rhonda Wilson. Great grandmother of the late Marish Williams. Daughter of the late Simuel and Dolores Green Stamps. Sister of Dolores S. (Alonzo) McLeod, Charlene Stamps, Angela Cooper, Deborah M. (William) Jeffrion, Marlene M. Miller, and the late Simuel and Michael Stamps, and Joyce Stamps Craig. Sister-in-law of Samuel Wilson, Sr. and Evelyn W. Williams. Marjorie is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Light Baptist Church, Bethany United Methodist Church, St. Paul Lutheran Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at New Light Baptist Church, 1435 Feliciana St. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Gregory Davis, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time.
