MARIE P CHAMPAGNE

Marie P. Champagne entered into her eternal resting place surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the age of 85. She was a native of Vacherie, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Marie was a retired employee for the Jefferson Parish School System. Beloved wife of the late James Champagne, Sr. Mother of Iris, Anna (Tracey) Bailey, Laverne Champagne, James (Roshanda) Champagne, Jr., and Sabrina Champagne. Grandmother of the late Dwayne “Turtle” A. Champagne, and James Champagne, III. Daughter of the late Felmon Philip, and Picular Philip. Sister of Doris, Rachel, Joyce, Charles, Elizabeth, and the late John T. Philip and Barney Philip. Sister-in-law of Audrey, Nita, Shirley, June, Gary, and the late Edwin, Willie, Julius, Charles, McCuloh, Elwin, and Hesper, also survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, and neighboring churches are all invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, April 28, 2023, 10:00a.m. Rev. Sidney O. Speaks, III, officiating. Visitation begins at 8:00a.m., Recitation of the Rosary at 8:45a.m., Tribute of life 9:00a.m.  Interment: Our Lady of Peace Cemetery-Vacherie, LA.
