Marian E. Jackson Hubert, age 79, transition to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 29, 2024. She was a native and resident of Marrero, LA. Marian was a 1961 graduate of Lincoln High School and continued her studies at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. After graduation she began her teaching career at her Alma Mater, Lincoln High School, and later joined the faculty of Henry Ford Middle School in Avondale, LA. As a successful educator, Marian decided to continue her educational accomplishments and returned to Southern University, obtaining her Master of Education in Administration and Supervision in 1983. She continued to educate young minds as a teacher and librarian with the Jefferson Parish Public School System until her retirement in March of 2000.Beloved wife of the late Junius “Johnny” Hubert (Herbert). Devoted mother of Trina (Kermit) Raymond of Arlington, TX, Anika Hubert, Keisha (Dalton) Day, and Junisia Hubert of Atlanta, GA. Loving grandmother of Joshua, Jordan, Jada, and Justin Raymond, Tia Hubert, Darrick Jones, Anthony Hubert, Kimble and Joseph Dee, Da’Jauna Hubert, and Jalen Jones. Daughter of the late Rev. Royal Jackson, Sr. and Elizabeth Wright Jackson. Sister of Kathy (Rev. Terrell) Scott, Dr. Ivy Lou Flemon, Royal, Andrew, Marcus, and the late Ronnie Jackson. Niece of Antoine and Pearl Wright. Daughter-in-law of the late John, Sr. and Orena Gordon Herbert. Sister-in -law of Rev. Terrell Scott, Dinnel Herbert, Shirley H. Orkes Gloria H. Grows, Rita Mae Herbert, Sheryl Jackson, and the late Marenthia Jackson, Claudell, Charles, and Warren Herbert, Walter Grows, Sr., Larry Orkes, and Clyde Flemon. Also cherishing her memories are 10 great grandchildren, her godchild Shere Mickey Duncan, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Second Highway Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Second Highway Baptist Church, 1533 Haydel Dr. Marrero, LA on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Joseph J. Johnson, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA.
