Lucille Roussell Joseph was called to bright glory at her residence on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the age of 92. She was a native of Edgard, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Lucille was united in marriage to Alfred Joseph on April 16, 1947, and they spent 47 blissful years together. She retired in 1997 from the Jefferson Parish School System after many years or service as a Custodian. She was a Eucharist Minister at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church. Devoted mother of Barbara Blakes Joseph of Dallas, TX, Alfred (Cynthia) Joseph, Dolores Joseph both of Marrero, LA, and Anthony (Patricia) Joseph of Houston, TX. Grandmother of Beverly Blakes, William Blakes, Jr., Dawn Darbon, Sheyna Joseph, Terrance (Flor) Joseph, Daniel Joseph, Tiera Butler, and Crystal Fleming. Daughter of the late Etienne and Florence Roussell. Sister of the late Irene Mitchell, Claude, Urbin, Joseph, Emile, Camille, and Herbert Roussell. Sister-in-law of Alice Roussell and Annette Joseph Haydel. Godmother of Phillip Mitchell, Sr. and Urbin Roussell III. Lucille is also survived by her devoted niece/caregiver Leslie M. Jackson, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Father Sidney Speaks, celebrant Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time; Recitation of Rosary 8:45a.m.; Tribute to follow.
