Louise Shepard James entered peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at the age of 97. She was a native of St. James, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Louise was employed for many years with the Frank and Cindy Christina family. She was a member of the Ninth Ward Prayer and Bible Band, and Willing Workers Prayer and Bible Band. Beloved wife of the late Samuel James. Loving mother of Bernadine James (Eugene) Harrell and the late Gloria Dean James (Bobby) Johnson. Daughter of the late Ferdinand Shepard, Genevie Taylor Shepard, and Virginia Zeno Shepard. Sister of Melvina “Lady” Shepard Keller and the late Irma Shepard Lewis. Also left to cherish her memories are 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, St. Mary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at St. Mary Baptist Church, 6223 6th Street Marrero, LA on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Edward Joseph III, host pastor; Pastor Ricky Johnson, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.
