LORRAINE PATRICIA PERKINS

Lorraine Patricia Perkins, age 75, departed this life at her residence on Sunday, February 11, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. “Tri” or “Shorty”, as she is affectionately known to family and friends, was employed as a Security Guard. She loved to cook, watch and cheer for the New Orleans Saints, and listen to old school music, especially Marvin Gay’s classic Distant Lover. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered in the hearts of those who were touched by her warmth and kindness. Beloved wife of the late Clem Arnold Carr. Loving mother of Priscilla, Michael, Sabrina, Christine, Katina, Darmella, and Darrin Perkins. Daughter of the late George Perkins, Sr. and Ceola Williams Perkins. Granddaughter of the late Adolph T. Williams and Gertrude Walker. Sister of Allen Anthony Perkins, Albert Perkins, Adolph Perkins, Gertrude Talyor Perkins, Audry Perkins, Elnora Perkins Landry, and Sherlene Perkins Robinson. She was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 1 great grandson, 1 great granddaughter, 1, sister and 4 brothers. Lorraine is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of CTS Security and Alamo Security Services are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 2428 Flood Street, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Rev. Dr. Dilton Robinson, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
