Linda Joyce Speed, age 66, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Ochsner Baptist Medical Center. She was a native of Tylertown, MS and a resident of Avondale, LA. Linda was a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School. She was a former substitute teacher with the Jefferson Parish School System and a former employee of Beauty Outlet (Avondale) and Piggly Wiggly (Westwego). Linda was a dedicated member of Second St. John Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a youth leader.  Beloved wife of Stanley Speed, Sr. Loving mother of Stanley Speed, Jr., Derell Speed, Ulesses Speed, Eric Speed, Lamar Speed, Kendrick Speed, and Daniel Speed. Daughter of the late Lilline Williams and Henry Williams, Sr. Sister of Rose Williams and the late Henry Williams, Jr. Linda is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Second St. John Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Charlie Davis, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
