Leroy Lester Trufant entered into eternal rest at V. A. Medical Center on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the age of 67. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA. Leroy graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1971. In 1973 he joined the United States Air Force and earned the rank of sergeant. During his 4 years of service he became a missile systems analyst specialist. He was a retired Shipyard Instrument Technician. Loving father of Darius Trufant, Sr. and Rachelle Trufant.  Devoted grandfather of Darius, Dwan, and Zahir Trufant, Jordan Southern, Brianna Mitchell, and Terry Johnson, Jr. Great grandfather of Tamiya Handy. Son of the late Alfred and Marie W. Pierre Trufant. Brother of Kenneth, Sylvester, Craig Sr., and Sterlin Trufant, Natalie Trufant Baldwin, and the late Alfred Jr. and Claude Trufant, Sr. Uncle of the late Craig Trufant, Jr. Great uncle of the late Roman Trufant. Godfather of Veraniece Jefferoy, Aurora Trufant, and Roderick Scott. Brother-in-law of the late William Baldwin, Jr. and Tessa Trufant. Leroy is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE STREET GRETNA, LA on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 10:00a.m.  Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m until service time.
