LEONARD CHARLES, SR.

Leonard Charles, Sr., departed this life at Veterans Affairs Hospital on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the age of 92. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA (Cutoff Community). Leonard served his country in the Unites State Army, and he was a retired bus driver with Jefferson Parish Transit. Beloved husband of Judy Thomas Charles. Loving father of Malcolm W., Leonard, Jr., Kelvin, Leslie, Sr., Eryn, Sr., and Jason Charles, Sr., and the late Shelita Jackson. Bonus father and grandfather of Tacarra Charles, also survived by 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of All Saints Catholic Church, and all neighboring churches; employees and former of Commercial Barge Line, Seafarer International Union, Westside Transit Lines, active and retired members of the United States Army are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Catholic Church 1440 Tech St. New Orleans, LA on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
