LEOLA FLORENCE MEDICE MCBRIDE

Leola Florence Medice McBride, age 96, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest at her residence on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Leola was a graduate of Xavier University Preparatory High School and Southern University of Baton Rouge, LA, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. While at Southern she became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Leola was a retired Educator and Reading Lab Specialist of the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Beloved wife of the late Stanley McBride. Devoted mother of Cheryl McBride Brown of Milwaukee, WI and Andrea McBride Bocage of Gretna, LA. Loving grandmother of D’Artagnan Brown (Kelly Lewis), D’Araun Brown, and Martinique Brown (Daniel Morgan) all of Milwaukee, WI, Damian Bocage (Nedra Dubuclet) and Corey Bocage both of Gretna, LA. Great grandmother of the late Alexia Brown. Daughter of the late John and Margaret Collins Medice. Sister of the late John, Jr., Joseph, Sr., Edward, Alvin, Vivian, and Lillian Medice, Ethel M. DeVore, and Ruth M. Fernandez. Also cherishing her memories are 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of All Saints Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Catholic Church, 1441 Teche Street, Algiers, LA on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 11:30a.m. Father Fred Kaddu, celebrant.
