LENA ELIZABETH WELDON WOODS

Lena Elizabeth Weldon Woods entered eternal rest on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the age of 83. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Lena was educated in the Orleans Parish School System and attended Selan’ System and Beauty Culture. She was the owner and operator of Walter Donut King Shop, a game store, and a liquor store. Beloved wife of Walter Woods, Sr. Loving mother of Lena “Melissa” (Wilbert) Petite, Linda (Dave) Butler, LV Winters, Andrew, and Gregory (Charlesetta) Weldon, Janice Parker, Rosetta Winters, and the late Marie Jenkins Murray. Bonus mother of late Kimberlyn Woods Dominick, and Walter Woods, Jr. Daughter of the late Matt Weldon and Roszanna Gilmore Weldon. Sister of Shirley Williams, and Barbara Jackson. Daughter in law of the late Edward Lawrence and Bernice Lawrence. Sister-in-law of Perry (Alma), Clint (Debra), James, Lawrence, and Danny Cammon, and the late Charlie “Chuck” (Lynn), and Edward Cammon, and Claudette (Curtis) Wilson, also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, niece, nephews, cousins, of other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church, Israel Baptist Church, and neighboring churches are invited to a Celebration of Life at Israel Baptist Church, 1612 Estalote Ave. Harvey, LA on Saturday October 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Darrell McKinnies Host Pastor - Pastor Keith Paul Stewman officiating.
