LaVonda Janet Hollins, age 45, departed this life at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank on Wednesday, February 5, 2020. She was a native of Los Angeles, CA and a resident of Harvey, LA. LaVonda was a graduate of Prairie High School and a veteran of the United States Navy. She was employed as a Supervisor with Floor & Decor. Beloved daughter of Valerie Hollins-Wood. Devoted Sister of Brandon Michael Wood. Granddaughter of the late Geraldine Janet Hollins, and Charles Leon Hollins. Great-granddaughter of Julia B. Scott, Albert and Amanda New. Loving niece of Geralcene Hollins, whom she loved as a mother, Charles Hollins of Los Angeles, CA, Tommy New of Hammond, LA, Betty New-Johnson of Laplace, LA, and the late Garry Leon Hollins and Linda Faye Hollins. Best friend of Rosa Sontillon of Fresnillo, MX; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Private services will be held.
