Larry Doak Walker

Larry Doak Walker entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the age of 65. He was a native of Westwego, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Doak, as he was affectionately known to family and friends was a graduate of West Jefferson High School. He was known to be an outstanding athlete, excelling in baseball, basketball, and football. Doak was a former welder of Avondale Shipyard.  Beloved fiance’ of Allean Carter. Loving father of Dwayne (Natasha) Eugene, Sr., Bridgette Walker, Qiana (Michael) Athanase-Conners, and Akiia Clement. Stepfather of Trenell Bowman, Trenise Smith, Willie and Chantelle Riser.  Grandfather of Dwayne Jr., BreJae, Brejion, Darilynn, Daijhan, Qiari, Milan, Kaela, Amyria, and Chalynd.  Son of Roy Walker, Sr. and the late Alice Smith Walker.  Brother of Roy (Fay) Walker, Jr., Norris (Delores) Walker, Elder Brian (Jennifer) Walker, Sr., Eric (Alice) Walker, Sr., Jeffery Walker, Willie Lee Miles, Bernadette Walker, Roxann (Perry III) Cyprian, Jennifer (Corey) DuBois, and the late Sherman Ray, Sr., Elton, Sr., and Wade Walker, Sr. Nephew of Sherry Lee (Neal) Tate.  Brother-in-law of Mollie and Janice Walker, and the late Johnny Duplessis and Brenda Walker.  Doak is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
