KERRY WOODEN

Kerry Wooden entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at East Jefferson Heart of Hospice at the age of 61. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Kerry was a high school graduate, and he was self-employed. Devoted father of Kerry (Marti) Riley, and Corey (Shanell) Porter. Beloved Son of the late Irvin Joseph Wooden, Sr. and Iola Jones Wooden. Grandson of the late Henry Wooden, Aline Smith Wooden. Brother of Irvin Joseph (Patricia) Wooden, Jr., Ellis Wooden, Sr., Allen (Darna) Wooden, Sr., Jean Wooden (Thomas) Scrubbs, Lynette Wooden (Larry) Washington, and the late Sandra W. Howard, Henry Wooden, Wayne Wooden, and Sharon W. Christian, also survived by 5 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members, of True Vine Baptist Church, Little Zion Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at True Vine Baptist Church 249 Sala Ave. Westwego, LA on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Leander Johnson Host Pastor - Pastor Damian Brown officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time at the above-named church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
